ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Blanco (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) corralled 10 saves, but Randolph-Macon dropped a 5-0 ODAC decision to Lynchburg.

The contest was scoreless for the first 32 minutes before the Hornets (6-1, 1-0 ODAC) tallied three goals in a five-minute stretch and held a 3-0 advantage at the half. LC added goals in the 73rd minute and in the 86th minute for the final margin.

Blanco had a pair of saves in the first half before snagging eight in the second period.

Lynchburg held a 33-5 advantage in shots, including 15-2 for shots on goal. Junior defender Jen LaBarge (Gambrills, Md./South River) and freshman forward Ellie Linkous (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) both had shots on goal for the Yellow Jackets (3-3, 1-1 ODAC).

R-MC travels to Washington and Lee on Saturday, Sept. 21, for a 2 p.m. ODAC contest.
