Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va.—The Randolph-Macon Field Hockey team finished their season following a 2-0 loss to Lynchburg College in the ODAC Champions game.
The Hornets scored the early 8th minute goal to gain the first period lead. The Jackets' defense kept Lynchburg at bay until the final goal in 54th minute. R-MC was outshot 22-14, 14-8 SOG; unable to respond in the second period.
Senior Lauren Seal (Orange, VA / Orange County) recorded 4 shots, 3 SOG alongside junior midfielder Catherine Pricone (Alexandria, VA / Washington-Lee) with 4 shots, 2 SOG. Junior Carrie Jacobs (Orange, VA / Orange County) also tallied 4 shots, 3 SOG.
Senior goalkeeper Steph Talley (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown Regional) finished the day with 11 saves while junior back Olivia Newman (Orange, VA / Orange County) nabbed a defensive save.
Following the game, ODAC coaches named Seal, Newman, and Jacobs to the ODAC All-Tournament Team. In three postseason games Seal had 10 shots, 6 SOG, and 1 assist. Newman finished with 7 shots, 4 SOG, I defensive save, and 1 goal. Jacobs accumulated 12 shots, 8 SOG, 2 assists, and 2 goals.
Randolph-Macon finished their 2013 campaign 11-10, 6-2 ODAC.
