to give the Jackets the 1-0 edge going into the half.
The R-MC offense was outshot by the Royals (8-4, 3-3 ODAC)
17-12, however still prevailing. Midfielder Samantha Tyler
(Colonial Heights, VA / Colonial Heights) had a team-high 3 shots
alongside freshman Ellie Linkous
(Charlottesville, VA / Monticello) and junior Jen LaBarge
(Gambrills, MD / South River) who both finished with 2 shots.
Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Royals forward Nori Osei
(Springfield, VA / West Springfield) (7 shots) broke away in the
63rd minute for what appeared to be a one-on-one shoot-out until
freshman Kristina Kilgore
(Hanover, VA / Hanover) hustled to obstruct the game's only
breakaway.
As goalkeeper Elizabeth
Blanco (Ashburn, VA / Stone Bridge) receives the win with 7
saves, the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team improves to 5-7, 3-4
ODAC.
The Yellow Jackets travel to Emory & Henry Friday, October
11th for a 5:00 PM conference match.
