Box Score Ashland, VA –St. Mary's scored a pair of second-half goals en route to a 2-0 women's soccer victory over Randolph-Macon.
St. Mary's (1-1-0) was the first to strike in the second stanza off of a Tori Eskay goal in the 56th minute from an assist by midfielder Liz Mosher. Mosher also recorded the second goal of the game off of a corner kick from Yvonne Latour in the 78th minute.
Mosher and forward Johanna Rambo each posted four shots with two on goal for St. Mary's. The R-MC (0-1-0) attack was paced by a pair of freshmen, Lindsey Hall and Meghan O'Neal. Combined, they recorded five shots and three on goal.
St. Mary's goalkeeper, Kelsey Wirtz, took the win and recorded five saves. R-MC goalie, Briana Housekeeper, allowed two goals while saving nine.
The Yellow Jackets held the 12-5 edge in corner kicks but were outshot 15-10.
R-MC will open its home slate of matches on Friday when it takes on NC Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m.
