Box Score 2 ATLANTA – The Randolph-Macon College Volleyball team split its two matches on Friday during day one of the Emory University Invitational. R-MC topped Maryville 3-2 to open the day before suffering its first loss of the season to the host Eagles.
R-MC is now 9-1 on the season and has won 14 of their its16 matches dating back to last season, with its only two losses coming to the three-time National Champions.
In the 3-2 win over the Scots, senior Mallory Carter had a career-high 22 kills on 67 attempts. Courtney Lowers had a career-high 16 kills and Tori Puryear chipped in with 11 kills as well. Riley Martin and Bailey Troia combined for 62 assists on the victory.
Defensively, libero Marli Dabareiner notched a career-high 34 digs in the win, marking the second-time in her career she has eclipsed the 30 dig mark. Jessica Sears had 19 stops, while Carter had 12 and Troia came up with 11.
In the nightcap, the host Eagles took advantage of 21 errors by the Yellow Jackets to take a 3-0 decision. Carter finished with eight kills for R-MC.
