Box Score ASHLAND, VA -- The Randolph-Macon College Volleyball team continued its winning ways on Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep of Mary Washington in Crenshaw Gym.
R-MC, which won by game scores of 25-16, 25-11, 25-23, is now 8-0 to start the season. The Eagles fall to 5-3 on the year.
The Yellow Jackets were paced offensively by Mallory Carter who had a match-high 11 kills to go along with 10 digs on the defensive side of the net. Courtney Lowers followed a nine kill performance last night against Eastern Mennonite with eight kills against UMW.
Tori Puryear also had eight kills, while Jessica Sears and Katie Rossberg each had four. Riley Martin dished out 23 assists and Bailey Troia added 16 helpers.
Marli Dabareiner joined Carter in double-digit digs with 15 in the victory.
Randolph-Macon will head to Atlanta this weekend to take part in the Emory University Invitational. R-MC will take on Maryville at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by Emory at 5:00 p.m. The Eagles are currently ranked No. 6 in the Nation in the latest AVCA poll. The Jackets will cap the trip on Saturday by taking on Travecca 10:00 a.m. and then No. 12 Elmhurst at 12:30 p.m.
