HARRISONBURG, VA -- Senior Jessica Sears registered a match-high 12 kills as the Randolph-Macon College Volleyball team topped Mennonite 3-0 Tuesday evening in Harrisonburg. 

R-MC won by game scores of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-15 en route to its seventh straight victory to start the 2012 season.  The Jackets are currently 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  Eastern Mennonite drops to 2-9, 0-4 in the league.

The first game was tight with R-MC holding a slim 19-17 lead after a kill by EMU's Karla Martin.  The Yellow Jackets would reel off the next five points and six of the final eight to win the game.

In game two, R-MC took a 7-0 lead after an attack error by the Royals.   The Yellow Jackets kept a sizeable lead throughout the game, capping it off with three straight points, the final of which, a Marli Dabareiner service ace.

The third game was close at the outset with EMU tying the score at 12-12 on a Sarah Richie kill.  That would be as close as the Royals would get as R-MC would go on a 13-2 run to close out the match.

Freshman Courtney Lowers had a season-high nine kills in the victory for R-MC.  Mallory Carter had five and Katie Rossberg and Emily Ortiz each had four. 

Riley Martin and Bailey Troia had 20 and 17 assists, respectively.  Defensively, Dabareiner had 20 digs on the night.

Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts nearby Mary Washington at 7:00 p.m.
