Box Score LYNCHBURG, VA – Fueled by three first-half goals, the Randolph-Macon College Women's Soccer team opened its ODAC slate of games with a 5-2 victory at Randolph on Wednesday afternoon.
Amanda Nelms got R-MC on the board first just 2:52 into the game when she scored her first goal of the season to make it 1-0.
R-MC doubled its lead just under six minutes later when Erin Hauser notched her second goal of the year on a long run and slipped the ball past WildCat keeper Hunter Gibson.
The final Randolph-Macon goal of the half came in the 24th minute when Meredith Eckles scored an unassisted strike to put R-MC 3-0.
Hauser recorded her second goal of the match three minutes into the second stanza to make it 4-0. With the score 4-1 Meghan O'Neal recorded her first collegiate goal at the 61 minute mark.
Brianna Housekeeper played just under 76 minutes in net, making two saves to record the win in net for R-MC.
The Yellow Jackets will return home on Saturday to take on Emory & Henry at 11:00 a.m.
