Box Score ASHLAND, VA – R-MC Field Hockey recorded its fourth straight ODAC win to continue its undefeated streak. The Yellow Jackets soared passed Bridgewater with three second half goals en route to the 3-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon.
Bridgewater struck first with a Colleen Dickson unassisted goal a little less than six minutes into the match. The Eagles' defense held strong in the first half, allowing no Yellow Jacket goals.
R-MC controlled the offensive end in the second stanza with its first score coming just 41 seconds into the half from Rachel Gardner after she tipped in a hard shot taken by Carrie Jacobs to tie the match at 1-1.
Catherine Pricone scored the go-ahead goal in the 51st minute off of an assist by Olivia Newman to give the Yellow Jackets the 2-1 lead. Gardner then connected with Mackenzie Turner eight minutes later as Turner's hard shot met the back of the cage to secure the 3-1 victory.
Nicole Woodworth recorded the win in goal, playing all 70 minutes and stopping 10 of the 11 Eagles' shots on goal.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Sweet Briar. The match is set for a 4:45 p.m. start.
