Box Score ASHLAND, VA -- Randolph-Macon cruised passed Sweet Briar, 4-0 Saturday afternoon as the women improve to 7-4, 6-1 in ODAC play, while Sweet Briar falls to 0-8-1, 0-6-1 on the season.
Meredith Eckles got the Yellow Jackets on the board just over five minutes into play off an assist from Amanda Nelms.
Angela Nelms and Erin Hauser then found Meghan O'Neal in the 23rd minute to take a two goal lead. Thirty-seven seconds later, Hauser notched her second assist of the match as she connected with O'Neal again to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-0 lead.
Hauser continued to lead the offense attack with a goal in the 29th minute off an assist from Eckles to secure the 4-0 victory. Hauser is now tied for first in the ODAC in total goals (11) and points (26).
Randolph-Macon controlled play throughout, outshooting Sweet Briar, 33-1, including a 20-1 edge in shots on goal. The women also held a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.
Eckles paced R-MC with four shots on goal while teammates Amanda Nelms and O'Neal chipped in with three each.
Briana Housekeeper took the win in goal for the Yellow Jackets. Cecilia Quinonez, Elizabeth Blanco and Kianna McLeod also saw time between the pipes. McLeod finished out the match with one save.
Katherine Tillson took the loss in goal for Sweet Briar, finishing with 16 saves in the contest.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on October 10th as they travel to Lynchburg College. Kick-off set for a 4:00 p.m. start.
