Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA – No. 5 Christopher Newport rallied to top Randolph-Macon, 3-1, in non-conference volleyball action on Friday evening.
R-MC (13-3) won game one by the score of 28-26. CNU (18-2) then rallied, taking the next three games 25-17, 25-22 and 25-20.
Tori Puryear led three Yellow Jackets in double-digit kills with 13. Hillary Jessee had 12 kills and Mallory Carter put away 11 winners in the loss. Courtney Lowers chipped in with seven kills and Bailey Troia had 30 assists for R-MC.
Defensively, Marli Dabareiner had 23 digs for the Jackets, while Jessica Sears added 12. Katie Rossberg had nine block assists on the night and Lowers added six stops on the defensive side of the net.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Tuesday evening at home against NC Wesleyan. First whistle is slated for 7:00 p.m.
