Box Score 2 ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon Volleyball team picked up a pair of wins on Friday night at Mary Baldwin. R-MC topped host MBC to open the night and then picked up a key regional win over Maryville.
R-MC, which is ranked No. 3 in this week's NCAA South Regional rankings, topped Maryville, which is ranked eighth, 25-15, 25-23, 25-21. R-MC is now 17-2 against regional foes and close out the regular season 22-5 overall.
Mallory Carter led the way for R-MC with 16 kills to go along with 14 digs defensively. Courtney Lowers and Tori Puryear each had six winners for the Jackets. Setter Bailey Troia and Riley Martin combined for 40 assists with 21 and 19 helpers, respectively.
Defensively, Marli Dabareiner joined Carter in double-digit digs with a team-high 23, while Jessica Sears added 12 stops and Martin had 10.
In a 25-4, 25-8, 25-9 win over Mary Baldwin, Carter had 14 kills. With 30 kills on Friday, the senior moves into eighth-place all-time in ODAC history with 1,365 for he career. Carter also had seven digs, while Martin dished out 26 assists.
Randolph-Macon, which will enter the 2012 ODAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed, will host a quarterfinal match Wednesday evening at a time and against an opponent to be determined.
