Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, NC--- Randolph-Macon won big versus Chowan, 9-0 Friday afternoon. The women improved to 1-2 on the year, while the Hawks fell to 0-3 on the season.
R-MC recorded their first shutout of the year and won by their largest margin of victory since they defeated Sweet Briar, 9-0 last season.
Randolph-Macon grabbed hold of the game early and never let up, dominating throughout. The Yellow Jackets outshot the Hawks, 39-1, including 22 shots on goal. The women also held a 16-0 edge in corner kicks.
Erin Hauser led Randolph-Macon in their first game of the North Carolina Women's Soccer Fall Classic, as she scored two goals and dished out three assists for a career-best seven points. She also added seven shots on the day. Meredith Eckles chipped in with two goals and an assist for a career-high five points. She leads the team with three scores on the season.
The two connected for the first three goals of the game. Hauser found Eckles for the first two scores of the contest as Eckles ripped the first goal of the match off a defender and passed the keeper. She then returned the favor, crossing a pass to Hauser to give the Yellow Jackets a three goal lead.
Jen LaBarge, Megan Jackson, Keeley Miller, and Morgan Mauck, all scored the first goals of their young careers. Mauk ripped a shot from 20 yards out to make it 4-0 at the half. Amanda Nelms also posted a goal, while Rachel Stewart chipped in with two assists.
The women return to action tomorrow as they play host North Carolina Wesleyan. The match is set for a 5:00 p.m. start.
