Box Score 2 ST. MARY'S, MD -- The Randolph-Macon volleyball team ran its record to 4-0 on the season with win over Franklin & Marshall and host St. Mary's on Saturday.
R-MC was led by Mallory Carter who had a total of 30 kills on the day. In the day's opener against the host Seahawks, Carter connected on 14 kills on 28 attempts and committed just one hitting error. Casey West added seven kills and Tori Puryear added six. Maggie Holbert paced the offense with 20 assists in the win.
Caroline Brown recorded 10 digs, while Jessica Sears had nine stops.
In a rematch of last year's first-round NCAA Tournament match, R-MC topped the Diplomats 3-1 to close out the weekend. Carter again stood out on offense with 16 kills. Sears had nine kills and 18 digs. Carter also chipped in with nine digs her own, while Brown had a team-high 20 digs in the win.
Puryear and Mallory James each added 2.5 total blocks on the defensive side of the net for R-MC.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Friday when it takes part in the Juniata Tournament.
