Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Volleyball ran its winning streak to five matches with a 25-19, 25-7, 25-8 ODC victory versus visiting Guilford College Sunday afternoon in Ashland. R-MC improves to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the league, while Guilford drops 2-10 and 0-3 in the ODAC.
Mallory Carter posted a double-double for R-MC with a game-high 11 kills and 12 digs for the Jackets. Jessica Sears finished the day with nine kills for Randolph-Macon which also got 23 assists from Bailey Troia.
After taking the first game, R-MC came out in game two and won 11 of the first 13 points. Guilford cut it to 11-3 before the Yellow Jackets took the next three points, pushing its lead to 14-3 on a Quaker hitting error. With the score 19-7, R-MC regained serve on a Carter kill to go up 20-7 and would reel off the fina five points on Carter serves to take the second frame.
In game three, R-MC was up 9-5 before it reeled off nine of the next 10 points, taking an 18-6 lead on a Mallory James kill. After a Randolph-Macon attack error made it 18-7, the Jackets scored the next seven points to put the match away.
Guilford was led by Malikah French who had six kills on the day, while Taylor Whitley had nine assists and Taylor Phillips registered 11 digs.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Randolph College for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC match.
