Box Score ASHLAND, VA – After dropping the first game of the match, the Randolph-Macon College Volleyball team rallied and took the next three as the Yellow Jackets topped visiting Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC opener for both squads on Wednesday night.
R-MC is now 7-2 overall and have won its last three matches. Mallory Carter registered 18 kills on the evening and also added 18 digs on the defensive side of the net as well. Jessica Sears complimented Carter offensively with nine kills and also had 16 digs as well. Hilary Jessee had nine kills as well, while Tori Puryear had eight kills for the Jackets. Bailey Troia recorded a career-high 44 assists in the win for R-MC.
Defensively, Marli Dabareiner had 25 digs, while Casey West had four blocks and Puryear had three.
Virginia (2-4) was paced by Tempe Martens and Kala Guy who had 12 and 11 kills, respectively for the Marlins.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Saturday morning when it hosts Emory & Henry at 11:00 a.m .
