Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Sarah Murphy's goal in the 80th minute pulled the Randolph-Macon College Women's Soccer team even at 2-2 with Mary Washington as the teams battled to a tie on Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets now sit at 2-2-1 on the year, while the Eagles now have a record of 4-0-1 on the season.
Ashley Lambers scored just 3:15 into the match for R-MC to give the Yellow Jackets an early lead.
UMW got on the board with just over eight minutes gone in the half off a score by Tina Rader. The Eagles then took the lead just four minutes later on a goal by Erin Reynolds.
Both teams battled throughout the second half, but Mary Washington just couldn't put Randolph-Macon away. Murphy provided the magic, scoring with just under ten minutes to play.
Randolph-Macon outshot Mary Washington 12-10 and held an 11-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday when they host Hollins at 2:30 p.m.
