ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon College Volleyball team opened up its 2011 season with a 3-0 victory over Marymount University on Thursday night in Ashland.  R-MC won by game scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-13.

The Yellow Jackets were led offensively by Mallory Carter and Hillary Jessee who had 11 and 10 kills, respectively on the evening.  Carter also paced the defense with 11 digs to go along with Marli Dabareiner's 12 stops from her libero position.  

The setting combo of Bailey Troia and Maggie Holbert combined for 31 assists on the night.  Troia, who was making her collegiate debut had 19 assists, while Holbert added 12 helpers in the win.

R-MC will be back in action on Friday night when it takes on NC Wesleyan at the St. Mary's of Maryland tournament at 7:00 p.m.
