Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va--- Randolph-Macon fell to Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1 Saturday afternoon in the First Round of the ODAC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets ended their season with a record of 7-9-1, 5-6 in the conference, while the Marlins improved to 17-2, 9-2 in the ODAC.
Virginia Wesleyan took an early lead on a Jessica Edelman score in the 32nd minute. The Marlins carried the 1-0 advantage into the half.
R-MC evened the score six minutes into the final period off a Jen LaBarge goal that curved in off a corner kick. The score was LaBarge's fifth of the season, the freshman finished the year with 13 points. In the 63rd minute Nicole found Bre Ingargiola for the eventual game-winner. Less than seven minutes later, Katie Gradel found the back of the net to give the final score.
LaBarge finished with two shots on goal and one score, Erin Hauser also registered a shot on goal.
Charlotte Horne started the game and recorded five shots, while Cecilia Quinonez played 42 minutes and registered two saves. Erica Keil picked up the victory and stopped two shots for the Marlins.
Randolph-Macon improved on its record from last season and returns more than half of its starting line-up next season. This year's senior class totaled 33 wins over their four year career in Ashland, 19 against ODAC opponents. All-Conference and All-Academic Honors will be announced later this week.
