ST. DAVID'S, PA -- The Randolph-Macon Volleyball team topped York College 3-0 at a tri-match at Eastern University. R-MC dropped the opening match of the day to the host Eagles.

With the win over the Spartans, R-MC improves to 20-5 overall.   It is the fourth straight year and the ninth time in the last 10 seasons the Yellow Jackets have won 20 or more matches.

In the 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 victory over YC (13-14), juniors Mallory Carter and Jessica Sears combined for 24 kills with 13 and 11, respectively.  Carter finishes the regular season with 360 kills which currently ranks third all-time in the R-MC single-season record books.  She now stands just 26 shy of the program record, 386 set by Carrie Wells in 1998.

Tori Puryear had eight kills, while Mallory James chipped in with five.  Baily Troia handed out 32 assists

Sears and Carter each had 14 digs in the win, while libero Marli Dabareiner had 13 and Troia added 11 stops.  Puryear had four total blocks at the net and Casey West had three blocks.

The Yellow Jackets started the day off with a 3-0 loss to the host Eagles who are ranked No. 5 in this week's AVCA Top-25 Poll.   EU won by scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-16.

In the loss, Carter had 11 kills and Dabareiner had 15 digs.

Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday, November 2, when it hosts the first-round of the ODAC Tournament at a time and against an opponent determined.
