Box Score ASHLAND --- Roanoke defeated Randolph-Macon, 3-0 in ODAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon. The Maroons improve to 12-4-1 overall, 8-3 in the ODAC. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 7-7-1, 5-5 in the conference.
Prior to the game, Randolph-Macon honored it's senior class of Megan Calabrese, Ashley Stover, Sarah Biggs, Kim Roberts, Tressa Seetin, and Ashley Lambers for their accomplishments on and off the field. This year's graduating seniors accumulated 33 wins over their four years, including 19 against ODAC foes.
Kara Kapell gave the Maroons the lead late in the first half as she chipped her shot over the keeper for her third goal of the season. Just before the half came to a close, Carmen Graves scored off a header from Maya Kantor's free kick to give Roanoke a 2-0 halftime advantage.
In the second half, senior Lauren Schwarcz scored her second goal of the year midway through the half sealed the win to earn the Maroons third-straight win.
Goalkeeper Briana Housekepeer recorded eight saves in the contest, while Kristyn Brogan registered three saves in goals for Roanoke.
R-MC travels to Virginia Wesleya Tuesday, October 25th to conclude its season. The game is a make-up from September 28th and is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
