Box Score ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon Volleyball team continued
its winning ways on Wednesday night with a 3-1 home victory over
Mary Washington.
R-MC won by game scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 to improve
to 4-0, while UMW drops to 5-1 on the young season. After splitting
the first two games, R-MC rebounded to win game three. The Yellow
Jackets then found themselves down 18-13 in the fourth game, before
reeling off 12 of the final 16 points of the game to take the
match.
Raena
Winton paced the Jackets offense with 11 kills. Mallory Carter
added seven kills, while Tori Puryear had six strikes on the night.
Sam Block and
Courtney
Anderson quarterbacked the R-MC attack with 15 and 14 assists,
respectively. Puryear also added six aces, Carter had five and
Anderson had four aces, including one on match point.
Defensively, Hillary Jessee
had five total blocks and Mallory James
had four blocks. Jessica Sears
registered 13 digs, while Anderson and Marli
Dabareiner each had seven stops.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action when it takes part in the
Greensboro College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
