Nelms netted the games' only goal five minutes in the second
half to give Randolph-Macon Women's Soccer (5-2 / 2-0 ODAC) a 1-0
win over Eastern Mennonite in Harrisonburg Wednesday.
The Yellow Jackets and Royals were locked in a defensive battle
throughout the first half, combining for 12 shots and eight
saves.
Sophomore forward Angela Nelms broke the scoreless in the
50th minute after beating her defender and the
keeper.
Randolph-Macon's defense kept Eastern Mennonite out of the net
for the final 40 minutes despite the Royals tallying 12 second half
shots.
Jackets' keeper China Bradley
stopped five shots in goal while the Royals' net minder Abby
Diffenbach made seven saves.
EMU outshot R-MC 17-13 for the game while the Yellow Jackets
held a 9-6 edge in corner kicks.
Randolph-Macon Women's Soccer will travel to Randolph College
Saturday, September 25th for a 2:00 contest.
