Box Score ASHLAND, VA – After dropping the first two games of the
match to Washington and Lee, the Randolph-Macon Volleyball team
staged a furious rally, forcing a fifth and deciding game, but the
Yellow Jackets came up short, falling to the Generals 3-2 on
Tuesday evening. The loss snaps R-MC's 11-match win streak to start
the season.
W&L (8-1 / 3-0 ODAC) won the first two games 18-25 and
19-25. R-MC (11-1 / 3-1 ODAC) then rallied to take the next two
28-26 and 26-24, before the Generals were able to take game five
9-15.
Mallory Carter led R-MC with 16 kills, while Jessica Sears and
Raena Winton had 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Courtney Anderson
had 25 assists and Sam Block dished out 20 helpers as well. Tori
Puryear led the defense with four blocks.
Randolph-Macon will be off until September 29th when it hosts
Sweet Briar at 7:00 p.m.
