Randolph-Macon rally to slip past the Yellow Jackets 2-1 in Ashland
Wednesday.
Amy Olson put the Eagles on the board just four minutes in on an
unassisted goal. Sunny Herold netted a Madison Hanley pass 12
minutes later to extend the Mary Washington lead to 2-0.
The Yellow Jackets struck back in the 71st minute
when Rachel Stewart found an open Brittany Jones who booted it into
the back of the net.
Randolph-Macon made several offensive pushes in the final 10
minutes but Mary Washington keeper Tina Brehm made three saves to
preserve the 2-1win.
China Bradley stopped a season high 12 shots in goal for
R-MC.
The Eagles held a 26-15 advantage in shots while the Yellow
Jackets took a 9-3 edge in corners.
Randolph-Macon's next contest will come Saturday,
September 18th at 2:00 when they travel to Hollins
University for their first ODAC match.
