Box Score READING, PA - Randolph-Macon fashioned six scorers in double
figures as the Yellow Jackets scored a 95-66 victory over Cabrini
in the First-Round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball
Tournament.
R-MC is now 23-6 overall and will face either Clark or host
Albright Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets came out hot on both ends of the floor,
holding Cabrini to just two made field goals over the first five
minutes and took an 18-6 lead on a Danny Jones bucket.
R-MC increased its lead to 38-13 with just over eight minutes to
play when Pugh converted an old fashion three-point play for three
of his 11 points in the first stanza.
The Jackets advantage would lead by as many as 26 before they
headed to the locker room up 55-31 at intermission.
For the first half, the Yellow Jackets made 61% of their shots,
connecting on 21-of-32 attempts from the field, including 8-of-14
three-pointers.
Randolph-Macon kept up the hot shooting with a 12-of-25 mark
from the field in the second period, paced by Jordan Brown who
dropped in ten second half points.
R-MC also kept up their aggressiveness on the defensive end by
keeping the No. 20 Cavaliers down by at least 21 points for the
remainder of the contest.
Adam Desgain went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc to lead
Randolph-Macon with 18 points. Pugh and Brown added 14 points each,
Brown also pulled in seven rebounds. Calvin Croskey had 3-for-3
mark from beyond the three point line to finish with 11 points.
Brandon Braxton also chipped in with 11 points.
Kevin Misevicius led Cabrini with 20 points while Cory Lemons
joined Misevicius in double figure scoring with 18.
The Yellow Jackets will take on either Clark or Albright College
Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the NCAA Division III Tournament second
round at Albright College.
