Box Score Seven different Yellow Jackets found the back of the net on
Wednesday as Randolph-Macon Women's Soccer (6-4-3 / 3-2-3
ODAC) defeated Sweet Briar 9-0 in Ashland.
Angela Nelms sparked the R-MC offense in the fourth minute when
she scored on a pass from Erin Hauser.
The Yellow Jackets extended their advantage to 2-0 in the
20th minute with a goal from junior Ashley Lambers on
passes from Hauser and Brittany Jones.
Amanda Nelms scored unassisted before Angela Nelms and Kayla
Boring assisted Erin Hauser to extend the Randolph-Macon lead to
4-0 heading into halftime.
Lambers netted her second goal of the contest just after
halftime on passes from Hauser and Angela Nelms to put R-MC up
5-0.
In the 64th minute, Meredith Eckles booted her first
career goal on a touch from Alex Truesdale.
Rachel Stewart scored twice in a nine minute span and Virginia
Hendrick netted a free kick as the Jackets pulled away for the 9-0
win.
Randolph-Macon outshot Sweet Briar 38-1 and held an 11-2
advantage in corner kicks.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Saturday, October
16th when they host Washington and Lee for a 1:00 ODAC
match. Prior to Saturday's game, R-MC will honor their three
senior players.
