Box Score BRIDGEWATER, VA - Randolph-Macon got 22 points from Jordan Brown
as the No. 4 Yellow Jackets improved to 11-0 on the season with a
74-53 ODAC road victory at Bridgewater on Monday evening.
Reserve Adam Desgain scored 14 of 17 points in the second half,
while Danny Jones had 11 off the bench helping the Yellow Jackets
reserves to a 30-12 advantage over the Eagles' reserves.
Calvin Croskey grabbed a career and game-high 11 rebounds in the
win. Brandon Braxton also snared 10 boards to help
Randolph-Macon to a 47-35 edge on the glass.
Jake Johnson led Bridgewater with 19 points, while Dominic
Trawick had 12 points for the Eagles, who were held to 30.6%
shooting from the floor, making 19-of-62 attempts.
R-MC (11-0/3-0 ODAC) was able to open up a double-digit
advantage early in the first-half, scoring 17 of the first 21
points of the game, with 10 of those points coming from
Brown.
The Yellow Jackets' lead grew to as many as 18 in the first
stanza when a Croskey lay in made the score 32-14 with just over
five minutes to go. A mini 7-2 run by BC to close the half sent the
teams to the locker room with the score 34-21.
BC (3-7 / 1-3 ODAC) came out and opened the second half with a
12-2 run, cutting their deficit to 36-33 on a Trawick three pointer
with 15:49 to play.
Seven consecutive points by Danny Jones gave R-MC some
breathing room and put the Jackets up by 10 at 43-33 with just
over 14 minutes left on the clock.
A layup by Johnson with 12:31 remaining cut the R-MC lead to
eight points, but that was be as close as the Eagles would get as
the Jackets reeled off a 13-4 run, capped by a Brown bucket, making
the score 56-41 with 8:59 to go in the game.
R-MC would maintain a double digit advantage for the reminder of
the contest, seeing their lead grow to as many as 22 down the
stretch.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action Wednesday when it travels
to archrival Hampden-Sydney. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in
Farmville.
