Box Score ASHLAND, VA-- Amanda Nelms netted her tenth
goal of the season but, R-MC Women's Soccer could not overcome two
early Bridgewater scores as the Eagles held on for the 2-1 win
Wednesday. Randolph-Macon falls to 6-3 overall with a 3-2 ODAC
mark.
Midfielder Caroline Banks put Bridgewater up 1-0
in the third minute with an unassisted goal.
The Eagles extended the lead to 2-0 in the
35th minute on an unassisted goal from freshman Jacey
Kelley.
Yellow Jackets' freshman Amanda Nelms netted a
pass from Angela Nelms in the 52nd minute to cut the
lead to 2-1. Amanda Nelms now has ten goals on the season while
Angela Nelms records her fifth assist.
R-MC made several late offensive pushes but
could not find the back of the net and BC held on for the 2-1 win.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Eagles 15-8 and
held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior Keeper Mary Jocelyn collected four saves
for Randolph-Macon while Cari Hensley stopped six shots for
Bridgewater.
R-MC Women's Soccer will be back in action
Saturday, October 3rd when they take on Washington and
Lee for a 12:00 p.m. match.
