Jocelyn Stops Six Shots as R-MC Downs
Eastern Mennonite 3-1
HARRISONBURG, VA- Senior Keeper
Mary Jocelyn collected six saves and sophomore Megan Calabrese
found goal to lead Randolph-Macon Women's Soccer past Eastern
Mennonite 3-1. The Yellow Jackets improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in
the ODAC.
R-MC took an early 1-0 advantage when Angela Nelms netted an
unassisted goal in the eighth minute.
Amanda Nelms put the Yellow Jackets up 2-0 with
a goal in the 38th minute on a pass from R-MC sophomore
Ashley Lambers.
EMU cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal from Jess
Myers just before halftime.
Randolph-Macon took a 3-1 edge in the
63rd minute when Megan Calabrese put an Erin Hauser pass
in the back of the net.
The Yellow Jackets' defense held the Lady Royals
in check for the remainder of the game and R-MC's 3-1 lead held to
be the final.
R-MC outshot EMU 21-13 and held a 16-4 advantage in corner
kicks.
Randolph-Macon Women's Soccer will be back in action Wednesday,
September 30th when they host Bridgewater for a 4:00
p.m. match.
