ASHLAND, VA - Randolph-Macon held Bridgewater to just 16 points in the second half as the Yellow Jackets broke open what was a one point game at the half and topped the Eagles 71-38 in ODAC Men's Basketball action.

The 38 points allowed by the Jackets is a season low and the R-MC defense held BC to 27.6% shooting for the game, only allowing 17 made shots on 61 attempts from the field, including just one three-point field goal on 16 tries.

Justin Short scored 14 of his game-high 22 points in the second half to lead the offensive charge for Randolph-Macon. Short also joined teammate Danny Jones with a game-high eight rebounds. Jones added 11 points on the offensive end for R-MC, while Brandon Braxton had nine points in the win as well. R-MC benefited from a strong night at the foul line, converting 27-of-40 attempts from the line.

A low scoring first half saw the Jackets take a 23-22 lead into the locker room. Randolph-Macon came out and scored the first 13 points of the second stanza, taking a 36-22 advantage on a bucket by Short with just under 16 minutes remaining in the game.

BC cut the lead to 38-28 on a jumper by D.J. Billups, but R-MC put the game away with 12-0 spurt that Eric Pugh capped with a bucket that put the Jackets up 50-28 with 10 minutes to go in the contest.
