Eastern Mennonite Slips by R-MC Field Hockey
2-1
ASHLAND, VA - The Randolph-Macon
field hockey team got an early goal from Kendall Lam to take a
lead, but despite outshooting the Royals 21-9, Eastern Mennonite
came away with a 2-1 win on Saturday.
Lam got the Jackets on the board
just over three minutes into the contest when she took a pass from
Monica Jenkins and beat EMU keeper Beck Nolt.
The Royals got the equalizer at
13:56 of the first half when Alyssa Desrstine scored. Things stayed
that way through the intermission and 2:10 into the second half
when Valerie Landis got the game-winner for EMU.
R-MC outshot EMU 21-9, but Nolt
turned away 12 shots on the day to preserve the win. Nicole
Woodworth made four stops in the cage for R-MC.
Randolph-Macon will be back in
action on Wednesday when it travels to Virginia Wesleyan for a 7:00
p.m. ODAC match.
