R-MC Volleyball Splits a Pair of Matches at Day One of Battlefield
Invitational
GETTYSBURG, PA - The Randolph-Macon volleyball team split a pair of
matches on Friday at the Battlefield Invitational, hosted by
Gettysburg College. R-MC topped Washington College after dropping
their opening match to Eastern.
In the 3-0 win over Washington, Raena Winton led the way for the
R-MC (2-3) offense with seven kills. Kendra Smith and Jordan Huber
each had four kills as well. Sam Block directed the offense with 14
assists. Savanna Love had 10 assists and three aces, while Maggie
Horn had four aces of her own. April Hines paced the defense with 1
solo block and four assisted stops.
In a 3-0 loss to Eastern, Hines and Smith each had four kills.
Block had 10 helpers and Jill Kubichan had 12 digs on the defensive
side of the net.
The Yellow Jackets return to action at the Battlefield
Invitational on Saturday when it will take on Neumann at 10:00 a.m.
and an opponent to be announced at Noon.
