Guilford Knocks off R-MC Women's Soccer 4-0 in ODAC
Opener
ASHLAND, VA - Amanda Speer, Jackie D'Orsaneo and Jada
Daniel each had a goal and an assist to lead the Guilford College
women's soccer team past Randolph-Macon College 4-0 in Ashland on
Saturday afternoon.
GC (2-3-0 / 1-0-0 ODAC) got on the board in the 22nd
minute when Jackie D'Orsaneo took a pass from Ellie Taylor
and beat R-MC (4-1-0 / 0-1-0 ODAC) keeper Mary Jocelyn for the
first goal of the match.
Speer set up Erin Baker off a corner kick in the 36th
minute to double a Quaker advantage that they would take to the
locker room at intermission.
GC took a three goal lead 1:35 into the second stanza when a
D'Orsaneo corner kick found the foot of Daniel who put the Quakers
up 3-0. Speer rounded out the scoring with a strike in the 50th
minute of play.
Guilford out shot Randolph-Macon 17-3 and held a 6-4 edge
in corner kicks. Jocelyn made five stops in net for R-MC, while Kat
Adams and Ambler Stapler combined for two saves and the shutout for
GC.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Tuesday when it
will host Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 p.m. in Ashland.
