Catholic Spoils R-MC Field Hockey Open Opener with 4-0 Win

ASHLAND, VA – The Catholic University field hockey team
scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 victory over
Randolph-Macon College Saturday afternoon in Ashland.
Meredith Chandler got CUA (4-1) on the board just over 19 minutes
into the game when she took a pass from Kendall Petschauer for the
Cardinals first goal of the match.
Tory Gagliardi and Meredith Reape each scored in first-half to
stake the Cardinals to a 3-0 lead at halftime before Gagliardi
stuck again in the second-half to put CUA up 4-0.
Ashley Crouch made eight stops in net for R-MC, while Marian
Cassilly and Krystyanna Ramsdell combined for four stops for
CUA.
R-MC will return to action on Sunday when they welcome Goucher
College for a 2:00 p.m. match.
