Washington and Lee Upends Randolph-Macon
Women's Soccer 3-0
LEXINGTON, VA -- Kat Barnes and Allie Espina registered
one goal and one assist apiece to lift the Washington and Lee
women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon on
Saturday afternoon at Watt Field.
The Generals (7-3, 5-1) got on board first when
Barnes found Espina, who snuck one past junior goalkeeper Mary
Jocelyn at 12:43 to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
W&L upped its lead in the second half when
Barnes scored off of an assist from sophomore midfielder Taylor
Garrett at 61:49. Espina then found first-year forward Anne Masich,
who found the back of the net in the 76th minute and the Generals
cruised to the shutout.
First-year netminder played the duration
and did not stop any shots for the Generals, while Jocelyn also
played 90:00 minutes and registered 13 saves for the Yellow Jackets
(6-4, 2-4).
R-MC returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Sweet Briar
for an ODAC match at 4:30 p.m.
