R-MC Volleyball Runs Win Streak to 13 With a Pair of
Wins Saturday
GREENBORO, NC - The Randolph-Macon Volleyball team ran its
winning streak to 13 matches with a pair of victories in a
tri-match held at Guilford College on Saturday.
R-MC (20-5 / 9-0 ODAC) rallied to top the Quakers 3-2 by the
game scores of 25-20, 26-28, 21-25, 25-11 and 15-12. The Yellow
Jackets got 13 kills from Aprils Hines and 11 kills each from
Kendra Smith and Raena Winton. Sam Block directed the offense with
24 assists, while Jill Kubichan had 22 digs and Mallory James had
four blocks total defensively.
In the day's second match, R-MC topped regional rival Averett
University 3-1, winning by game scores of 25-17, 25-21, 22-25 and
25-17. Smith led the way offensively with 10 kills, while Hines and
Maggie Horn chipped in with eight and seven kills, respectively.
Block (18) and Savanna Love (15) combined for 33 assists. Kubichan
had 15 digs James had a total of five blocks.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on Tuesday when it hosts
Lynchburg College at 6:30 p.m.
