Calabrese Scores Twice in 4-1 R-MC Women's Soccer Win
over Randolph
LYNCHBURG, VA - Megan Calabrese scored two goals and added an
assist as the Randolph-Macon College women's soccer team scored a
4-1 ODAC road victory at Randolph on Saturday afternoon.
Calabrese got R-MC (8-6-0 / 4-4-0 ODAC) on the board just 44
seconds into the match when she took a pass from Brittany Jones and
beat WildCat keeper Victoria Johnson.
Calabrese doubled the Jackets' advantage just under seven
minutes later when Catlin Blake set her up for seventh strike of
the season and a 2-0 R-MC lead. In the 13th minute Calabrese set up
MaryCarol Davis for a goal that gave Randolph-Macon a 3-0 edge at
the intermission.
Ashley Malinowski closed out the R-MC scoring in the 56th minute
when she collected her sixth goal of the season to make the score
4-0 in favor of the Jackets.
Mary Jocelyn made two saves in 66:28 of action in net for R-MC,
while China Bradley made one stop in 23:32 of playing time.
R-MC outshot Randolph 25-5 and held an 18-0 edge in corner
kicks.
Randolph-Macon will return to action on Wednesday when it hosts
Trinity College (D.C.) in Ashland at 4:00 p.m.
