Kaitlyn Okin, MSAT, LAT, ATC

Randolph-Macon College Athletics has announced the hiring of Kaitlyn Okin, MSAT, LAT, ATC, as an athletic trainer on the Yellow Jackets’ sports medicine staff in January 2026.

Okin joins Randolph-Macon after serving as an Athletic Trainer in a clinical outreach role with Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, where she provided comprehensive care to student-athletes at multiple high schools throughout Virginia. She is no stranger to the Yellow Jackets, having previously worked on campus as a contract athletic trainer during the fall of 2025, assisting with the football and swimming programs.

A 2025 graduate of the University of Lynchburg, Okin earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training. Her thesis research examined the social determinants of health in secondary school settings. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from Hollins University, where she competed as a collegiate athlete in cross country and equestrian.

During her clinical education, Okin gained experience across a wide range of collegiate and secondary school sports, including lacrosse, soccer, basketball, swimming, golf, track and field, football, and tennis. Her training emphasized injury evaluation, rehabilitation, emergency action planning, concussion management, and return-to-play decision-making.

Okin is a Board of Certification–certified athletic trainer and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She holds American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider and Instructor certifications and is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association. She has received multiple research grants and national scholarships and has presented original research at both the state and national levels.
