As a senior (2015): Ortiz played in 35 matches in the record-setting season, as the Yellow Jackets reached the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals...She tallied 120 kills (third on the team), 49 digs and 50 blocks (fourth on the team)...She recorded a season-high 10 kills against Christopher Newport (9/26)...Ortiz completed her career with 365 kills, 172 digs, 194 total blocks, 40 service aces, 30 assists and was responsible for 518.5 points over four years.
As a junior (2014): Ortiz played in 104 sets in 31 matches in her third year as a middle hitter with the Yellow Jackets...She led the team in blocks with 58, including a season-high seven against Eastern Mennonite (10/15)...Emily finished fourth on the team with 121 kills, averaging 1.16 kills per set...Ortiz tallied 53 digs (eighth on the team), 14 assists and eight service aces.
As a sophomore (2013): Ortiz played in 27 matches and tallied 90 kills (1.00 per set)...She finished with 26 service aces, 56 digs, and 69 blocks (0.77 per set) which was 8th in the ODAC.
As a freshman (2012): Ortiz played in 18 matches as a middle hitter for the Yellow Jackets... She recorded 34 kills, averaging .94 per set, four service aces and 16 digs on the season.
Personal: Lettered all four years in volleyball at Jamestown High School…helped lead her team to two District Championships and a Regional Championship…earned All-District Honors and was named Team Captain as a senior…member of the National Honor Society.
