As a freshman (2015): Melissa appeared in 13 games for the Yellow Jackets, starting in seven of them.  She finished the season with a .261 batting average including seven RBI's and one home run.  Melissa also threw 10.2 innings on the season with three stikeouts, compiling a 1-0 record.  Her biggest day of the season was April 22 against Richard Bland where she went 2-4 with four RBI's and recorded the win in that game...Melissa was named to the ODAC All-Academic Team for her accomplishments in the classroom.

Personal: Melissa attended Powhatan High School where she played softball...She helped the Indians claim the conference in 2014 and the Jefferson District in 2013...The Indians were also the Region II Runner-Ups in 2013...Melissa was named All-Jefferson District First Team infield, First Team All-Conference 19 utility and received Honorable Mention All-4A South Region accolades...She intends to pursue a degree in business with a concentration in management.
