Biography

As a sophomore (2015): Katie appeared in 23 games for the Yellow Jackets, starting in 16 of them. She finished the season with a .116 batting average including five RBI's and one double.  Katie recorded a season-high three RBI's in a game against Methodist (3/25).

As a freshman (2014): Katie appeared in 25 games for the Yellow Jackets, starting 22 of them. She finished the season with a .275 batting average, including 7 RBI's and 19 total bases.  Katie also recorded 48 assists which was good for third on the team.  

Personal: Katie attended Matoaca High School where she played softball...She received the All-Academic Award in 2012 and 2013...Katie was a member of the National Honor Society, DECA and the Outdoors Club...She intends to pursue a degree in biology.

Katie's uncle, Chris Rivera, played baseball at Virginia Wesleyan University and played in the minor leagues with the Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals.
