Kevin Pond joined the Randolph-Macon Men's Volleyball program as a volunteer assistant coach in February 2018 before the program launched its first season. 

Pond has more than 23 years of coaching experience. Most recently, Pond has served as the varsity coach at Deep Run High School with the boy's volleyball program for the past 11 seasons after spending one season as the JV coach. He is a five-time state champion in Virginia with the most recent title coming in 2021, and has won five district and conference Coach of the Year awards. Pond is a nine-time winner of the conference and district title and coached the Wildcats to a regional title and six total state championship matches.

Two years ago Pond founded the Old Dominion Volleyball Academy where he has coached the boys' 18 national team the past two seasons.

Before Deep Run, Pond spent ten years as a junior varsity volleyball coach, first at Patrick Henry in Ashland for ten years.

Pond is a USAV Junior Olympic coach and has been certified since 1999, assisting current R-MC Director of Volleyball Bill Rogers with the Ashland Revolution Volleyball Club until 2002. Following his stint with Ashland, Pond began coaching at the Richmond Volleyball Club, serving as the Boy's Program Coordinator and 18's National Head Coach, where he remains today. With Richmond, Pond has earned three East Coast Championships: with the 17's in 2007 and 18's in 2010 and 2014. 

When not on the volleyball court, Pond manages the Hanover Vegetable Farm, a fifth generation farm that grows produce for a national grocer. 

Pond is the father of three children: Madeline (24), Gage (15) and Greyson (11) and lives in Ashland.
