Men's Golf Begins The Fall Season with Top-10 Finish

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Randolph-Macon men's golf finished its opening tournament of the fall season with a seventh place finish at the Transylvania Fall Invitational. 

Kole Kohut (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) led the team on the weekend with a final round score of -2 (70). The junior ended the third round with four birdies and pars on 12 holes. Kohut ended the weekend with an overall tournament score of +1 (217) and placed 25th out of 87 golfers. 

Carter Chapin (Seaford, Va./York) had a phenomenal third round, leading the team at -4 (68), adding five birdies and shot par on 12 holes. The junior completed the weekend at +3 (219) for a 31st place finish.    

Charlie Wilkerson (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) completed the third round with a score of +5 (77) with two birdies. The junior shot the third best score on the weekend for the Yellow Jackets, firing a +4 (220) three round score and placed 35th overall as an individual.  

Ty White (Emporia, Va. Greensville County) ended the final round with a score of +1 (73) with three birdies and shot par on 11 holes. The junior fired a +5 (221) three round weekend to place 40th overall as an individual. 

Will Johnson (Blackstone, Va./Kenston Forest School) rounded out the group with a final round score of +4 (76) with two birdies. The sophomore finished the weekend at +10 (226). 

Tournament Notes:

Randolph-Macon led the field in pars (183).
Randolph-Macon led the field with the least double bogeys (6).
Randolph-Macon ranked second on Par 3s (E).
