BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball began its quick two game road trip with a tough 3-0 decision with (RV) Bridgewater on Friday night.

How it Happened
- Bridgewater came out hot in the first set, scoring 10 of the first 14 points and took a 10-4 lead. The Eagles were led by Maecy Ann Frizzelle with four kills and Olivia Leonard (Richmond, Va./The New Community School) led the Lemon and Black with two kills. Randolph-Macon picked up the pace with a small run of its own, led by Allison Lach (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) that recorded two kills and the BC lead was down to three at 14-11. The set of runs continued, as Bridgewater rattled off six of the next seven points, taking full command of the opening set and led 20-12. The Yellow Jackets were led the rest of the set by Leonard, adding two more kills and totaled five overall in the set. The Eagles used two big runs to take the lead in the match, winning the set by a score of 25-18.
- The fast start to sets continued for the Eagles, as they outscored RMC 9-3 in the first 12 points. Olivia Roark (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day School) and Lach accounted for the only two kills during the run for Randolph-Macon. Avery Jastrzemski (Richmond, Va./Goochland) and Lach helped score a quick four points for the Yellow Jackets. Bridgewater had a service error to help RMC get within three points, still trailing 10-7. Leonard led a group of five Randolph-Macon players with kills in the back half of the set with two kills. The early run for the Eagles proved to be costly for RMC, as the set went to BC by a score of 25-15.
- In the third set, Randolph-Macon stayed with the Eagles in the first 12 points. Caitlin Smith (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day School), Ella Courtney (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) and Leonard all had a kill and Bridgewater held a slim 7-5 lead. Agnes Alford led BC with two kills on a quick 4-0 run, giving some cushion to the Eagles and increased their lead to 11-5. Randolph-Macon used two errors by Bridgewater, adding two kills by Jastrzemski and Lach for a 4-0 run and drew within two at 11-9. The key run came once again for BC, this time a 8-3 run led by Claire Griffith with three kills and the lead grew to 19-12. Bridgewater salted away the remainder of the set and took the final set by a score of 25-17. The three big runs in each set for the Eagles guided them to a 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon.

- Bridgewater led 40-to-34 in kills, 35-to-34 in assists, 36-to-34 in digs and 11-to-one in aces.
- The Eagles held the advantage in hitting percentage (.359-to-.207).
- Leonard led the team in kills with 11 overall in the match. This is the sixth match this season the freshman has ended with double-digit kills. She also led the team in digs with eight overall.
- Lach ended the match with eight kills, three digs and a service ace.
- Smith registered a match-high 29 assists, giving her 25-or-more in ten matches this season.
