Randolph-Macon reclaims the top spot in the country for the first time since week 13 of the 2022-23 season. This is also the seventh different year that the Lemon and Black have spent at least one week at number one. The first time they were voted number one was weeks seven and eight of the 2001-02 season.
The Yellow Jackets began last week with a home victory (68-58) over (RV) Virginia Wesleyan to split the regular season series with the Marlins. Randolph-Macon ended the week and regular season with a road victory over Bridgewater by a score of 67-61.
The win over the Marlins at home would extend the Lemon and Black's home win streak to 22 games, dating back to last season.
The Yellow Jackets are now 23-2 (14-2) on the season and will begin the week at home against Guilford in the conference quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 24. Randolph-Macon needs to defeat the Quakers in order to advance to Salem, Virginia for the conference semifinals towards the end of the week on Friday, February 27.
