ARLINGTON, Va. - Randolph-Macon women's swimming opened the new year with a win over Marymount, 176-82. Kelsey James (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) highlighted the win, earning first-place in all of her events.

Individual Winners

• James earned a first-place finish in the 100 Back with a time of 1:01.22. During the 100 Free, she finished in 56.23 seconds, earning another first-place finish. 
• During the 100 Breast, Teaghan McNeill (Knightdale, N.C./Enloe) finished with a time of 1:10.58, earning a first-place finish.
• Caroline Russell (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) added nine points to the Yellow Jackets' overall total with a first-place finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:18.20.
• During the 50 Free, Madi Reed (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) earned a first-place finish with a time of 25.49 seconds.
• Abby Kozlowski (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) finished with a time of 2:15.83, earning first-place in the 200 Back.
• During the 200 Breast, Anna Sprott (Hampton, Va./Peninsula Catholic) earned another first-place finish for the Yellow Jackets with a time of 2:33.93.
• In the 200 Medley, Izzie Check (Williamsburg, Va./Bruton) added nine more points with a time of 2:20.04, earning a first-place finish.

Individual Highlights

• Hannah VanVelzor (Norwalk, Conn./Christchurch School) achieved a season and lifetime best in the 1000 free, earning a second-place finish with a time of 11:28.25.
• In the same event, Brooklyn Decann (Huntersville, N.C./Lincoln Charter) finished third with a time of 11:28.29.
• In the 200 Free, Reese Painter (Houston, Texas/Duchesne Academy of Sacred Heart) earned second-place, finishing with a time of 2:03.69. During the 200 Back, she earned another second-place finish with a time of 2:16.79.
• In the same event, Hannah Loyd (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) finished with a time of 2:05.20, earning second-place. She added a third-place finish in the 200 Back with a time of 2:18.00.
• Kozlowski finished third in the 100 Back with a time of 1:04.06.
• Sprott earned a second-place finish in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:10.72. In the 200 Medley, she finished with a time of 2:22.30, earning second-place. 
• In the 200 Fly, Annika Rogerson (Goochland, Va./Goochland) finished with a time of 2:21.30, earning a second-place finish. She added a third-place finish in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:04.61.
• Sophie Sullivan (Richmond, Va./Saint Catherine's) earned second in the 50 Free with a time of 25.57 seconds. She also finished second in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:02.70.
• Eliza Brock-Turner (Midlothian, Va./Manchester)placed third in the 50 Free with a time of 27.76 seconds. 
• During the 100 Free, Avery Swenson (Chester, Va./Monacan) earned a third-place finish with a time of 56.99 seconds.
• McNeill earned a second-place finish in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:39.39.
• Russell finished second in the 500 Free with a time of 5:30.36.

Relay Winners

• The 200 Medley relay team of James, Sprott, Reed and Sullivan earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:53.51, earning 11 points for RMC.
• The 200 Free relay team of James, McNeill, Swenson and Reed finished with a time of 1:43.44, earning first place.
