Women's Golf finished tied for 5th overall at the DIII Preview with Morgan Mussatt swinging her club

Mussatt Leads #12 Women's Golf in Final Round of DIII Preview

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Randolph-Macon women's golf completed its time at the NCAA DIII Preview on the west coast in California. The team finished tied for fifth in the tournament at +17 overall. 

Morgan Mussatt (Henrico, Va./Mills Godwin) and Alexis Haller (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Collegiate School) both set 36 hole records with their finishes at the NCAA DIII Preview. The juniors led the Lemon and Black to a top-5 finish as a team in a field filled with top-25 teams. The juniors both finished in the top-8 to be named a part of the all-tournament team. The team also recorded another record, firing a new 36-hole record at 593. 

Mussatt stepped up in the second round for Randolph-Macon, shooting a -3 (69). The junior tallied an eagle, four straight birdies and ten overall pars. Mussatt finished her weekend -1 (143) for eighth place overall for the Yellow Jackets. She tied the single round school record that was set yesterday by her teammate in round one.   

Haller carded a +2 (74) to finish her time in Palm Desert, California. The junior recorded pars on nine holes and added three birdies to her scorecard. Haller finished tied with her teammate at -1 (143), recording a top-10 finish at eighth overall.  

Lilly Hall (Yorktown, Va./Liberty University Online Academy) ended her two round weekend with a +3 (75) in the final round. The sophomore recorded nine pars and three birdies in the final 18 holes. Hall ends her weekend at +6 (150) to finish 28th as an individual. 

Grace Anne Haggerty (Glen Allen, Va./St. Catherine's) shot a +12 (84) in the final round of the DIII Preview. The freshman finished with seven pars and two birdies in the last round of the weekend. Haggerty ended the weekend +15 (159) for the Lemon and Black. 

Elli Flinchum (Summerfield, N.C./Rockingham County) finished the final round at +10 (82) with pars on 11 out of the 18 holes. The senior completed the weekend at +17 (161).

The Lemon and Black will be back in action at the Williams Fall Invitational on September 27-28, hosted by Williams College.
