Football Sits at #21 in AFCA Preseason Poll

WACO, TexasThe Randolph-Macon football team was voted 21st in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl.

Following a third round appearance in the playoffs last season, the Yellow Jackets were also No. 21 in the D3football.com Preseason Top 25 Poll, released in late July.

Randolph-Macon is coming off its third straight ten plus win season, entering the 2025 season with hopes to extend that streak. During the 2024 season the Yellow Jackets captured its 15th overall Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship. The program has won the last three conference titles, while also finishing as the best program in the conference six out of the last nine seasons. The Lemon and Black received a first round bye in the NCAA playoffs, before hosting Washington and Jefferson in the second round and would defeat the Presidents by a score of 38-22. Randolph-Macon would head to Salisbury University to conclude the season in the third round of the postseason tournament. 
 
Head coach Pedro Arruza enters his 22nd season as head coach at RMC. Randolph-Macon opens the season at home to welcome in Dickinson on Sept. 5 before making the trip to Pella, Iowa to take on Central College at 1:00 p.m. on Sept. 13. Day Field will play host to the 130th edition of "The Game" that matches the Yellow Jackets up with Hampden-Sydney to conclude the regular season.
