Men's Swim Concludes Regular Season with Victory at VWU

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Randolph-Macon men's swimming saw 13 event wins to highlight the Yellow Jackets against Virginia Wesleyan.  

Individual Winners
  • Elliott Kassab (Richmond, Va./New Community School) swam the 50 yard breaststroke in 27.88 seconds for the top spot. Kassab also won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:00.48. 
  • Alex Richardson (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) took home the top spot in the 100 yard butterfly in 53.18 seconds. The junior also won the 50 yard butterfly in a time of 23.74 seconds. 
  • Sebastian Florez (Richmond, Va./JR Tucker) won the 1000 yard freestyle with an overall time of 10:52.82. 
  • Ben Pastva (Fairfax, Va./Robinson) was the winner in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.63 seconds. 
  • Aidan Campbell (Newport News, Va./Warwick) swam the 100 yard freestyle in 50.07 seconds. 
  • Dillon Strohhacker (Mechanicsville, Va./Mechanicsville) won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.47.
  • Ben Sallade (Bristow, Va./Patriot) was the top finisher in the 50 yard backstroke in a clocked time of 27.14 seconds. 
  • Evan Fannin (Hayes, Va./Christchurch) won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 56.46 seconds. 
  • James Skarbek (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) swam the 500 yard freestyle in 5:09.49 for first place.  
Individual Highlights
  • Jacob Batson (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) was second in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:58.34. 
  • Noah Rohlfs (Newport News, Va./Menchville) placed in the runner-up spot in the 100 yard butterfly in 56.52 seconds. 
  • Dahmon Harmon (Chesapeake, Va./Deep Creek) was second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.58 seconds. 
Relay Winners
  • The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Richardson, Fannin, Skarbek and Pastva took home the top spot with an overall time of 1:28.67. The same group also won the 200 yard medley relay race in 1:37.87.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina Feb. 12-15.
